Good news! We've redesigned the leave type settings page. While we were in there we added this:
Each and every leave type can now be set to show as "Busy" or "Available" in external calendars. Google Calendar, iCal, Outlook - anywhere you can send an iCal feed.
This will only affect external calendars and won't change anything in Timetastic for that leave type. A few (thousand) of you requested it so we hope this helps you organise your leave types better. Calendars can take a few minutes to update after changing availability while we sync up all the bookings in the background
API consumers will also see this in new fields, check the API docs for more info.
Stay tuned for more updates.
A small but often requested feature comes to Timetastic today. Work anniversaries now show on the Wallchart and Calendar.
They're visible to the person having the anniversary and their approver (plus admin users).
They look like this:
They'll be coming to our next mobile update shortly too.
Enjoy!
It's been a long time coming...
We've often been asked by customers if there was any way to support more advanced working patterns where a weekly repeating schedule isn't enough. Timetastic does support multiple schedules, but they're quite limited in flexibility. Well, not any more!
So, from today, yes you can! Some examples:
- Working patterns that repeat every 2 weeks - for example, you might not work every other Friday
- Custom "ad-hoc" schedules for a week - an easy way to define a user's schedule just for one week that doesn't repeat.
There's a lot to this - so if you're interested in finding out more please check out the help centre article here.
Enjoy!
Today we're releasing the first benefit of joining forces with Citation. From today, you have access to a free HR advice line if you're a Timetastic customer in the UK. This isn't just for our Pro customers, but everyone.
Click the link in the footer, organise a time and you're all set.
We've cleaned up the footer a bit and added a less distracting "what's new" section as well.
🎉 You'll see Account Owners in Timetastic from today.
Your Account Owner will be the primary contact for billing and general account communications. They can access all the same functions as your admin users with one key exception - your Account Owner is the only Timetastic user that can delete an account.
Pro accounts can have up to 3 owners whereas business accounts can only have 1.
You can set your account owner(s) from the USERS menu:
Our latest graduate from the suggestions list is the ability for you to have different leave years for some, or all of your users.
As a general rule, most people in a company have the same year-end for their holiday allowance, but it's the exception that creates the rule right?
There are a lot of companies out there that use different leave year ends for each employee, sometimes based on the month they started employment, sometimes based on the month of their Birthday.
It's nice to be able to finally say yes to this.
When adding a new user, you can choose when their leave year starts:
If you ever need to change the leave year then you can do that on an individual basis too.
Using the multi-select in the USERS menu you can change any number of users to a new leave year:
Hi all,
Ok so let's start with a nice new feature: Add users with daily or hourly allowances
Previously, if you wanted an hourly user, you had to add them with a daily allowance and then convert them to have an hourly allowance. Now - when you add a user you can specify the allowance unit right there on the add user page - much simpler we think 👏
It looks like this:
Secondly, we had a problem with the mobile app where some users were reporting that the "inbox" wasn't showing, so you couldn't get to your pending requests. This turned out to be a caching issue. Very sorry about that - there is a fix to the backend that makes that issue go away. 🐛 📱
Thanks for reading, and enjoy the rest of your day!
A small update to the Privacy Policy today.
As we are now part of The Citation Group and they will be helping us run Timetatsic, we needed to include a reference to them and their involvement in our privacy policy, as follows:
"Timetastic is part of The Citation Group and as our owners they may use your data in the same way as set out in this policy."
We've given the sign-in and signup screens a lovely fresh new look 🎉
They had felt a little behind in terms of brand, so it's nice to see them moving forward like the rest of the app.
All the sign-in features are still there - sign in with a password, with Google, with a password-free code and there are links to help if you're having issues.
You can also now signup using Google, making signups quicker and easier.
