🔒 We’ve fixed a few edge case issues around the locked dates function 🔓
No big features this month but here's a roundup of our bugfixes and improvements:
- Fixed an issue where if you deleted an approver, any bookings they approved wouldn't be in reports 📊
- Fixed an edge case where if you updated many users at a time, you'd come up against a rate limit, stopping you editing more. 🏃♀️
- Inviting users now knows the difference between you re-sending them an invite and sending the first invite 📨
- Fixed a really rare edge case (4 times since 2014!) where it was possible to restore an admin user without an email address 🛑
- Fixed loads of text overflow, line clamping and truncation issues throughout the web app 📝
- Fixed the department boss name not updating when editing a user and changing their department 🐛
Hopefully more exciting updates coming soon.
Calling all developers, tinkerers and Zapier enthusiasts...
You can now integrate your other systems directly into Timetastic: Add, Edit, Archive or Restore users from the public API and connect into your other systems.
Pro users can also update user contact details too.
Full details in the API docs along with the new Postman collection to get you started straight away at https://timetastic.co.uk/api/
While these new endpoints bed in, we're rate limiting them to 2rps.
We're introducing a much better user experience for the inbox, to align with the mobile app.
Inbox
Under the Inbox icon you can see all of the requests you need to approve. And a simple click will take you to look at a specific request in more detail.
Sent items
When you've sent a request and you're waiting for your manager to approve it. You can now see these in your sent items...
We've had a number of small updates go out recently, none merited their own update but here's what's recently changed:
- We've got new menu designs! 🖌️
- Slack posts have been updated to use Slack's new layout technology which should mean better message formatting - especially for those on mobile. ✨
- We fixed an issue where you could create an "empty" leave type which caused other issues down the line. 🐛
- Thanks to a report from the security community we've updated our rate limits and put more protections in place for people overwhelming our email services. Thanks to @Jayalak54621465 for getting in touch. 👍
We've redesigned and improved the new user onboarding tips with a fresh design and more relevant information. 🖌️
Onboarding your staff to Timetastic just got a bit easier for everyone. 🙋♂️
We've also updated the Slack daily summary to fix an issue with Slack where sometimes some users would be cut off the end of the post.
We've updated our Terms of Service to align with current GDPR requirements.
Prior to this we included a number of clauses in the Terms of Service required by GDPR, but that mechanism no longer cuts it. So we've moved all those terms into their own Data Processing Agreement, which is the proper way of doing things now.

Some of our emails have remained the same since Timetastic Day 1 and they were a bit (lot) old and tired 🥱.
So say hello to our new email designs 👋. They're clearer, better for contrast and much more consistent in design. Aligning better with the new mobile app and the new theming on the web app too.
Timetastic has received a subtle new coat of paint 🎨. Our design language has evolved, we've tackled readability, accessibility and contrast so you should now see a much more consistent Timetastic.
The main things are the blue background on form fields and blue buttons. The previous colour was green, but green is particularly difficult to a decent contrast ratio for those with visual impairments.
There design tweaks also make Timetastic more consistent with the mobile app.
Today we're unleashing our revised user listing page with badges showing users who are admins 👑 and those who have two factor authentication 🔐 on.
There's loads of small improvements here for resending user invites 📨, seeing who hasn't logged in and the archived user listing is revamped too.
Other things that have improved:
1) Changing your photo on the users page now updates it instantly everywhere instead of you having to reload the page to change it.
2) We fixed a very obscure edge case where sometimes locked dates would save with either no reason, or the wrong reason.
3) Developers! 👷 The API docs are being given some TLC, we've got a postman collection for you and many improvements to the docs have shipped in the last few days.
