Better Preferences Menu

"My preferences" and "Sign in & security" have joined forces under our new, much clearer Preferences menu:

Now you can change your email notification settings, password, set up 2FA or see your sign ins all from the same place. Much clearer, much easier to scan through and hopefully you'll agree, much easier to use.

Other updates:

- We've also cleaned up an edge case permissions issue where some updates on users wouldn't save properly

- We've opted out of Google's controversial FLoC experiment on our website (see: https://plausible.io/blog/google-floc#what-is-federated-learning-of-cohorts-floc).

Sign in tweaks

2FA

This one is mostly a result of internal feedback, but if we found it a little annoying at times then perhaps you did too...

We now remember your device/browser after a two-factor authenticated sign in for 30 days, instead of prompting you for the code each and every time you sign in.

Additionally, when inputting your code on a mobile device you should now be offered the numeric keyboard, which will hopefully ease your journey into Timetastic.

First sign in

We've improved the way we record your first sign in to Timetastic as a new user. In rare circumstances we were seeing that users weren't being reported as active, so weren't receiving emails.

Entering login codes on mobile improved

Some improvements to the behaviour of the Login Code screen today:

iOS users can now see the code they've entered, auto tabbing between the fields is fixed and we load the numeric keyboard rather than the full one.

Protip: You can just paste the code straight in to any of the boxes and we'll sort it all out and log you in 👍

New "My Preferences" page

New style Preferences page for you today. Nothing has changed in functionality, but it's more legible and accessible now. Especially on smaller screens.

In the invisible engine compartment of Timetastic we've tidied up some logging.

A couple of fixes

Two things you won't notice, but they all add up 🙂

- Fixed an issue where the book button would be visible if you had a payment screen open on the mobile site.

- Fixed a potential abuse scenario from the Forgot Password page. Hat tip to Kapil for reaching out to us with this one 👍

Better approval confirmations

Small update when you approve or decline requests 🚦. Now you'll always end up on the Requests page with a confirmation, rather than being bounced straight to the Wallchart 👍.

There's some backend updates and improvements too in this update.

Privacy Update and a bugfix

Fix

First up we fixed an issue where Slack posts would fail if the public holiday country had multiple public holidays on the same day.

Improvement

Second up, big privacy improvement to Timetastic: Following our removal of email trackers a while ago, we've removed Google Analytics from the website, app, blog, help centre and this changelog.

We've moved to a privacy focused analytics app called Plausible.

You can read more about Plausible here: https://plausible.io/

Updates and improvements

We've rounded up a few fixes and improvements for this one:

1) Your Timetastic Plan (Business or Pro) now shows on the billing page.

2) When cancelling an account (😢👋) we now email all admins on the account to confirm it.

3) Some security updates and fixes from our recent external Penetration Test

Recent transactions, Login Codes and Burnout Board improvements

A raft of fixes, tweaks and refinements in this release.

Improvement

- Magic login links have been replaced with 6 digit login codes. Codes are just as secure but more reliable than placing links in the body of an email.

- The reports page now has a dropdown for selecting your annual summary reports

Pro

We've tuned the Burnout Board algorithm to exclude anyone that's currently absent. So someone on long term leave e.g. maternity won't show as a burnout risk.

Fix

1) We fixed an issue with recent transactions where some history wouldn't show up for bookings created a long time ago but updated recently.

2) Any integrations you had set up (Slack, Teams) would switch to "all departments" if you deleted the department they were set up against. Now we'll delete those integrations when the department gets deleted too.

3) We fixed an issue with birthday reminders where they wouldn't go out sometimes.

IE support ended today

Today we've dropped support for Internet Explorer. If you're using IE with Timetastic. Now is the time to use Firefox, Brave, Safari, Chrome or Edge instead.

This change will allow us to deliver better features faster and more reliably while shrinking the amount of code we have to send down to everyone. The case for IE has been made by people better than I can explain here, so I'll defer to those posts for more detail:
