The Fire Wire!

For our Pro users, the Burnout Board is shining a light on those people who aren't taking time off and might be overworking. But leaving it down to ad-hoc logging in and checking is pretty weak.

So, The Fire Wire is your quarterly update from the Burnout Board.

It's sent to both admin users and department bosses (for their department).

If nobody's on your burnout board that's great news, we won't send anything.

The email looks like this:

Slack app updated

Inline with Slack's new policies and better privacy controls, we've updated the Timetastic Slack app. No new features, but much tighter privacy controls which we're always happy to implement.

For our Pro users, there's also a fix to a bug on the Insights Annual leave chart where some bookings would be allocated to the wrong month.

Small bug on the report download

Good morning.

Following the last release, it looks like some of you were struggling to download reports. This turned out to be a small issue in our cache-busting logic that meant that your browsers were still serving up old versions of some of the code that powers the app.

This small issue has been dealt with now, and we're once again fully operational with reports. Phew. Sorry.

New card entry form

Hello!

We've seen a gentle upward trend in declined card payments recently - we know it can be frustrating when something should just work but doesn't.

With that in mind, we're now collecting cardholder name and Postcode/ZIP when entering or updating your card details. This should improve the success rate of our collections meaning you can get on with work instead of logging in and updating card details if they fail.

We took the time to make the saved card form a bit nicer too, we can't resist a design tweak 😄

Fixes:

In addition, we've fixed an issue where the "Performing user" on a webhook event was always set to the user who booked the absence, rather than the user who performed the action. Webhook users should see performing user data is correct for all event types now.

🔒 Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Happy new year, folks!

We might all be on lockdown (again!) here in the UK, but at Timetastic we're thinking about a different kind of lockdown: how we can help you keep your Timetastic account safe and secure 🔒.

So in today's release we introduce two-factor authentication, using your favourite authenticator app: Google Authenticator, Authy, etc. You're probably already using 2FA with many of your other software apps.

You can set up 2FA on a new page: Sign in & Security, which you can find under your profile menu:

Profile menu -> Sign in & Security

This page now gives you a single location to:

  • Change your password
  • Set up 2FA and manage your recovery codes
  • View your sign in logs

Timetastic Pro

Timetastic Pro users get the additional option to enforce Company-wide 2FA. You'll find this option under SETTINGS > SECURITY:

That's all for now but you can find more detailed information in our Help Centre.

Other changes

Fix The Excel backup report had user allowances misaligned in the columns, that's now fixed

Improvement We've improved the auto column widths in all excel downloads to accomodate the filter checkboxes now.

Stay safe, stay secure everyone.

Fixed: Older invoices can't be downloaded

We identified some errors in the logs where older invoices couldn't be downloaded by some users. After some investigation we narrowed this down to a 3rd party updating their API without notice.

Sorry about that if you had issues, it's all sorted now and you can download old invoices again 😀

Summary emails now state your department

We've improved the summary emails to tell you more about the type of summary you're getting so you'll see the department name.

If you're a pro user you'll see whether the summary is for the whole organisation, or people you manage too.

We've also rounded up some fixes to the allowance setting of a new user and made sending weekly summary emails more reliable in some edge case scenarios.

📣 Upcoming change: Internet Explorer Support

Hi Everyone,

This only applies to roughly 3% of our sessions but we're giving you as much notice as we can.

Internet Explorer support in Timetastic is coming to an end in February 2021.

This specifically applies to IE11 as that's the only version we currently support. If you're using IE11 with Timetastic this will affect you.

If you're using any version of IE you'll see a banner in Timetastic warning you about this support ending. From February 2021 (or in fact, today) we'd strongly advise using a modern browser.
